A Custom Contact Variable is set via  API or uploading via the contact manager.

Regardless of how a CCV is set how they are used in the Surveys and Landing pages is the same.

If setting, for example, a 'department name' via  the API the API call would look like:

In a survey or landing page the CCV is called by using {{{departmentName}}} anywhere plain text is present:

  • A question
  • An instruction
  • The SMS/Email text

The CCV will be replaced with the corresponding [value] - Sales in this example.  

Important Note! CCV's are case sensitive and and no spaces are allowed.
